CMS Field Trips

CMS students go on many field trips during their three years at CMS. The CMS PTO assists with those trips by donating money to help keep costs down for our students. Some of the different field trips include Michigan State University, the Holocaust Museum, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, the Arab American Museum, Underground Railroad Living Museum at the First Congregational Church of Detroit and many more. Students with excellent citizenship are invited to field trips at CJ Barrymores & other fun events to reward their excellent classroom behavior.

Our 7th & 8th grade students take their field trip experience to the next level by exploring Chicago & Washington D.C. 7th graders that choose to participate go to Chicago for 2 days and 1 night where they are able to observe the important historical landmarks in downtown Chicago, go to the Shedd Aquarium, taste Chicago pizza, experience the Chicago Sky Deck & more. 8th graders charter a bus to Washington D.C. for 4 days and 3 nights where they have a non stop schedule to explore and learn about our nation's rich history. Students will visit important landmarks like the Martin Luther King National Memorial, George Washington's Mount Vernon, the Tomb of the Unknown Solider, go on a boat cruise, learn to ride the metro and more. Fundraising opportunities are available to help cover the cost of these trips.

If you have any questions about the 7th & 8th grade class trips, please contact Ms. Nagy at wendy.nagy@clawsonschools.org or Ms. Reaume at amy.reaume@clawsonschools.org.
